Meyokumin School was opened in 1981. The name Meyokumin is the Cree word meaning "sweet water".

In addition to regular programming, Meyokumin is also a district site for the Cogito alternative program and offers the Strategies program for students with special needs.

The school colours are Blue and Gold.
